Gruelling. Roasting. Relentless. Amazing.
I LOVE this picture, it really sums up how deep I had to dig to get through the afternoon and into the night! The race was an emotional rollercoaster, plagued by OCD. Anxiety. Fear. Pain. Uncertainty. But it ended with Hope. Strength. Love. Self-Belief.
It’s been a brutal month, much harder than most! Mainly because it’s usually just the one intrusive thought that’s sits with me, this time it’s been flashbacks from the past, all coming after me at once, confusing both me and my OCD.
Endure24 was all I hoped it would be. The first 6 hours of the race was crazy hot, it must have been 30+ degrees! On the whole I hoped to run a little further, but I had to listen to my body! Loved having the Farsley Flyers crew out on course, pushing me through! But by far the best part was having my family at the end and with me throughout, because without them there’s no way I’d be here today!
Lastly thanks to everyone who messaged me during and after the race, the support I’ve had through Insta/FB has been overwhelming! It means the world to me! Who said social media was all bad!?!
